Gayle and I were in the greater Yerington area yesterday as part of a family errand. Yerington is about an hour and a half from Genoa, of which the drive is largely scenic and lightly populated. At times, we did wonder what some of the individual stories might be about as we passed various styles of stand-alone homes. After picking up some items from Nevada Copper, we searched Yelp and Google for possible Lunch spots. When McDonald's appears as #5 on a page's Top 10 list (and its Monday), we knew that our choices were limited. We "settled" on Tailgater's and were pleasantly surprised, as we settled into our booth during a quiet early afternoon. I'll give this place 5 Stars, mostly because for what it is (kind of a diner/sports bar cross) and where it's located, it did its job very well. High points: - Friendly, engaging, efficient, and caring table service. - Excellent Turkey Melt (with fries for me and creamy soap for Gayle) - Decent wine and Guiness to go with our meal. - Reasonable price for the quality and portions of our meal. If we were to pass through here again....of course!
